국내 업체가 개발한 우울증치료제에 대한 특허권이 다국적 제약업체인 얀센에 판매됐다.

SK(주)는 15일 "얀센 파마슈티카(Janssen Pharmaceutica)에 우출증치료제 특허권을 총 4천9백만달러(556억8,360만원/환율 1135원)에 양도하기로 했다"고 공시했다.

SK는 또 "양도가액과는 별도로 순매출액의 10~12%를 경상로얄티로 받기로 했다"고 밝혔다.

이 회사는 이어 "우울증치료제를 국제적 신약으로 개발하기 위해 임상개발 능력과 글로벌 마케팅 능력을 보유한 다국적사에 양도하게 됐다"고 배경을 설명했다.

이번에 양도된 우울증치료제는 미국 FDA의 임상허가를 받아 오는 2005년경 상품화될 예정이다.

이 치료제는 앞서 미국 뉴저지의 SK 신약개발사업부에서 전임상시험을 마친 바 있다.

한편 우울증치료제 전 세계 시장규모는 약 100억달러에 이를 것으로 추산되고 있다.
